Our deeds, our words

In the early 20th century, the suffragettes, who were a group campaigning for women's right to vote in the UK, were frustrated by the lack of progress made through established tactics such as lobbying and petitioning. Their motto was Deeds not words.

Whilst many of us are still frustrated by the inequalities in our society, we also know that there are escalating levels of distrust and division. A positive, sustainable and more equal society absolutely relies on us all taking action – but that can only come about through conversations, across divides and between groups; deeds and words.
